The story behind the vine. Nearly 25 years ago, twin brothers Jim and John Wasson heeded the call of the vine and Wasson Brothers Winery was born. Previously, both brothers were part-time farmers in Clackamas County, Oregon, and began pooling their skills at amateur wine-making using home-grown grapes. (They still maintain their own vineyard near Oregon City.) Today, the label has a loyal following for both its specialty fruit and berry wines made from locally Grown fruit (Rasberry, Loganberry, Blackberry and Rhubarb are favorites and are produced year-round), as well as traditional varietals such as Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Muscat, made with the finest northwest grapes. Also on the list is a delightful selection of sparkling wines, and a truly unique Niagara, a bit like a sweet Gewürztraminer.
